Dr. Shamsheer founded VPS Healthcare in 2007, having been a radiologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. He studied at Kasturba Medical College in India where he completed his Bachelor's degree in Medicine before pursuing a Doctorate in Radiology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute. After opening his first hospital in Abu Dhabi, he diversified into related healthcare businesses within the Middle East and North Africa region and the Indian sub-continent.
Dr. Shamsheer received the 2015 Global Humanitarian Award from the Global Partnerships Forum, presented at a reception at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Clyde Eder joined VPS Healthcare in 2016. Previously he held senior positions with leading healthcare organisations in the USA, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. He began his career with Hospital Corporation of America, and was part of the team that formed Quorum Health Resources, a spin-off from HCA.
On leaving QHR, he provided consulting services internationally, later managing several large hospitals in Abu Dhabi before becoming CEO of Bumrungrad Hospital International. He then joined SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services Company) as Chief Operations Officer, serving on a number of SEHA group boards.
Clyde holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Accounting and has extensive training in leadership, quality, and media.
Dr. Charles began working with VPS Healthcare in 2007 as Medical Director of LLH Hospital, later becoming CEO of Burjeel Hospital.
Previously, he was Head of Respiratory Medicine and Consultant in General Internal Medicine at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Northern Ireland, and a lecturer in respiratory diseases and pharmacology at Queen's University, Belfast. He was Medical Director at the King Khalid National Guard Hospital in Saudi Arabia; Head of Medicine and Clinical Development Coordinator for the Ministry of Health in the UAE; and then Regional Medical Director of Abu Dhabi's Al Gharbia region.
Dr. Charles holds a series of academic and professional qualifications and has more than 200 published research papers to his name.
Omran joined VPS Healthcare in 2015 and is responsible for building market presence by identifying potential opportunities, negotiating and closing business relationships, and analysing industry research and trends.
He previously held managerial positions with ADCO, responsible for business development, customer services, and supply chains. He has extensive experience of working with the government sector and in real estate investments.
Omran holds a BSc in Business Administration from Suffolk University, Boston. He is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and has completed the institute's Advanced Competency Programme.
Jim Purcell joined VPS at the beginning of 2017, having held senior positions with leading private and government healthcare organisations in the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
He began his healthcare career in 1986 as Director of Education at Miami's Charter Hospital. For four years, he managed a private practice, and was a Circuit Court approved consultant in medical malpractice cases. In 2012, he joined SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services Company), holding successive positions as Chief Executive at hospitals in Al Ain.
Jim holds advanced degrees in Educational Leadership and Business Administration.
Antoine El Achkar has more than 30 year's of experience in private healthcare sector. He was Director of Dar Al Shifa Hospital in Abu Dhabi before joining VPS in 2007. He has worked with the Ministry of Health and Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) on the performance of private hospitals, and is Secretary to the Private Medicine Committee of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.
He completed his Radiography degree in Lebanon, where he worked for some time before moving to the UAE. He joined VPS as Director of the LLH Hospital in Abu Dhabi, later becoming General Manager of the group and overseeing its development.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Hari Mohan worked with Ranbaxy Laboratories, Fortis Healthcare, Muscat Private Hospital, and the Jeddah International Medical Centre. He has more than 25 year's experience in financial management, analysis, and auditing, working in various countries and diverse roles in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and financial sectors.
Hari Mohan's core skills in profitability improvement, cost control, supply chain, and strategic financial management have been applied to new business ventures and mature companies. At VPS, his extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry plays a key role in strategic decision making.
Prior to joining VPS Healthcare, Wayne Keller was Principal of Keller Consulting Group, which offers Ethics and Corporate Compliance and Financial Services to Hospitals and Clinics. He previously worked at SEHA as CEO of Patient Financial Services, Abu Dhabi.
He has extensive experience in international healthcare and is recognized as leader for developing management advisory and consulting services. In a career spanning over 21 year's, he has also helped organisations to implement financial and operational systems across multiple disciplines.
He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Healthcare Compliance Professional and Forensic CPA. Mr. Keller has Master's degree in Healthcare Administration and Bachelor degree in Accountancy.
